Artist Statement

  • Color is the primary language of my work. I am drawn to vibrating chromatic relationships -- to combinations that do not settle into harmony too easily, that resist comfort and generate tension.

Through color, I explore the fragile, often contradictory emotional spaces that exist between people. My practice centers on the complexity and depth of individual experience. I am interested in the tension between vulnerability and restraint, intimacy and distance, clarity and ambiguity.

  • I like being able, through color combinations and patterns, to convey my sensations and emotions, and even to alter my perception and interpretation of a subject, so that I ultimately discover a different way of seeing ordinary, sometimes even mundane, things.

  • I work in series. For me, searching is not a preliminary stage but the foundation of thinking itself. Each work carries the charge of an independent statement, yet remains open, as if it could continue, unfold, or shift further. This sense of ongoing inquiry gives each piece both autonomy and potential.

Through different coloristic discoveries, I explore how the same image can acquire and contain within itself completely different meanings and sonorities. It unfolds itself in different ways thanks to the vitality and energy of color.

  • Painting, in my practice, becomes a space where emotional contradictions are held rather than resolved -- where color sustains what words cannot fully articulate.
